MedVida: Credibility and trust

The last few years have been one of the great changes for Medvida Brasil. At an accelerated pace, the company has become one of the largest in the Northeast, in its segment, and the fastest growing in the region. Created in 1999, in Maceió (AL), the company has not long started a reformulation of its business strategy and a process of expansion of activities.

The first important move was coming to Bahia, in 2019, expanding its clientele and its service network, which has a variety of clinics, laboratories, and hospitals of different sizes. Wherever it goes, the public has received its products so well that the increase in the number of beneficiaries in the last two years has been multiplied by a thousand. The company, which was already a reference in the State of Alagoas, started as Medvida Saúde and the name changed to Medvida Brasil to accompany the new phase, that it intends to be national in the medium term.

The first steps have already been taken, with a presence today in four states. In addition to Alagoas and Bahia, Pernambuco and Sergipe were added and the implementation of service in São Paulo, Piauí, and Maranhão is being finalized.

At this rate, in December, the company will close 2021 with a presence in five states more than when it started the year, reaching nine units of the federation. The leadership of Medvida Brasil in this decisive period is in the hands of CEO Magno Luis Mascarenhas, 39, an executive who has been in the position for two years. He has a degree in Administration and Tourism, an MBA in Health Management and Health Sciences, and a Doctor Honoris Causa certification in People Management. He has been working in the area for over 15 years, in several Brazilian states and has been enthusiastic about the company’s transformation and adaptation to nationalization, without losing its identity.

Part of Medvida Brasil’s work takes place outside the supplement health area, properly, to embrace social projects. Supporting social projects means Medvida working on a broader concept of health, a culture in which people take care of themselves, are better prepared, and less sick. With this direction, the operator has signed several partnerships with football, kart, jiu-jitsu, and judo sports associations.

Two of the company’s directors come from this experience in the Itapagipe Peninsula, in Salvador. Magno Mascarenhas himself and CFO Luiz Augusto Buente were judo practitioners in their teens, in the same place where they currently house hundreds of boys through a partnership between Medvida Brasil and the Itapagipano Judo Club. The executive defends that sport is the biggest promoter of inclusion and socialization of underprivileged youths in Brazil. Medvida Brasil is also a sponsor of the Confiança football club, from Sergipe, the Bahia Kart Association and the Bahia Jiu-Jitsu Federation. The partnership with Confiança contemplates the 2021 season. Through this partnership, fans also benefit, being able to purchase a health plan with an exclusive discount.
